Join us for the 16th Annual
Hands On San Diego
September 16 - 24th
Join Volunteer San Diego and thousands of fellow volunteers
in this weeklong service blitz! Over the course of a week,
you will help to
complete hundreds of
service projects for a diverse
group of nonprofits and the hundreds of thousands of
San Diego County residents they serve. Most of the
agencies are flexible with the date their project is
scheduled, so don't hesitate to ask for a change if
there is a date that works better for your group. If
you have a small group or are volunteering on your
own, we recommend signing up for one of our
Signature Events. You
can also join us at the
Bone Marrow Drive.

Community Cinema: "The World According to Sesame
Street"
Join us on Monday, September 18th at
5:30pm in the San Diego Public Library (Central
Library) for the first screening in our new
Community Cinema program.
"The World According to Sesame Street" reminds
us that social change can come from the most
unlikely sources, including a team of Muppets. The
screening will be followed by a panel discussion on
children’s rights, global and cross-cultural
education. This event is free and open to the
public.
T-shirt Art Contest
The votes are in and the
winners have been selected! Thank you to all the
students who submitted entries. Your designs and
slogans were truly inspiring.
Volunteer San Diego
welcomes volunteers with disabilities:
If you are a volunteer with a disability and wish to
participate in Hands On San Diego, we will be happy
to work with you to provide accommodations if needed
to participate (e.g. sign language interpretation,
alternative formats for written materials,
accessible facilities, special tools). Please
click
here for descriptions of typical project tasks
and instructions for requesting accommodations.
