Volunteer With Your Group
There are two ways to participate in Hands On San
Diego:
EITHER
Select a project from the HOSD database and join
or form a team to make it happen:

OR
Register to participate in one of the "signature
events" organized by Volunteer San Diego at the
following locations:
Mission Bay Youth Fields in San Diego
(Sun. Sept. 17)
Casey's Place in San Carlos
(Sun. Sept. 17)
Mission Bay Park in San Diego (Sat. Sept. 23)
North Santa Fe Corridor in Vista (Sat. Sept. 23)
Please note: Volunteers
must be at least 14 years old to participate without
a parent or legal guardian present. All volunteers under the
age of 18, whether accompanied by a legal guardian
or not, must bring a signed Waiver of Liability
to the project. Volunteers without this waiver will
be turned away.

Free T-shirts and Padres
Tickets
All participants can receive a free Hands On San
Diego 2006 t-shirt. Free tickets are also
available for Hands On San Diego night at the
Padres, Wednesday, Sept. 20th.

Kick-off Breakfast at SeaWorld
Save the Date: Friday, August 18th, 7:30 - 9
a.m.
Join us, fellow volunteers, non-profits and
Shamu for this exciting networking opportunity and
free breakfast. Learn more about Hands On San
Diego and how to make your project a success. Two
people per project may attend. Please RSVP to
hosd@volunteersandiego.org or 858-636-4130 to
reserve your spot.
Managing your
Team through our website
Each time you log-in to our website, you will be
taken to the Member Center, which can be accessed at
any time from the menu bar on the left.
To update team information, or
add or remove members to or from the team:

Select “My Teams.”

Click on the name of the team
you wish to update.

Select “Modify” next to the
appropriate section.

Make your changes.
-
Click “Finish.” If you do not
click finish, and changes you have made will be
lost.
To communicate with your team:
-
Select “My Teams.”
-
Click on the name of the team
you wish to communicate with.
-
Click “Go” next to "Email my
team."
-
The system will automatically
check all members of your team. If you only want
to communicate with certain members, uncheck the
box next to those you DO NOT wish to communicate
with.

Enter the text you wish to
send and click “next.”
-
Verify the message, and if
you are happy with it, click “finish.” If you
need to make changes, simply use the back
button on your browser.

A copy of the email will be
sent to you, and any team members you selected.
To add or remove team members
from or to a project:
-
Select “My Teams.”
-
Click on the name of the
project.
-
Make any necessary changes
and click “Update Team Sign-up.”
Please verify that all members
of your team who have been signed up for projects
are able to participate, and remove anyone who
cannot. By reserving spaces for people who are
unable to volunteer, you may be depriving someone
else of the opportunity to participate and the
project of much-needed support.
