Description:
Volunteers are needed to help staff the Family Assistance Center that has been set up to serve Hurricane Katrina evacuees. At the center, evacuees will be able to register with FEMA, be assigned a case worker, and get connected to any other services they may need.
Volunteers will help direct people around the center and generally help out as needed. Please be prepared to be flexible and patient.
Volunteer shifts are available Mon. - Fri. from Sept. 12-23 for the following times: 9am-12pm and 12-4pm.
Shifts will be available Mon. - Fri. from Sept. 26 - Oct. 7 for the following times: 9am-1pm and 1-4pm
You must sign up for a shift in order to volunteer. Please sign up for a shift(s) through this web site, using the link below. If you have not yet registered on our site, you can do so through the link below in the red text.
You will receive the center address and driving directions in a confirmation email once you have signed up. When you arrive at the center, check in with the Facility Coordinator.
Volunteers must be at least 18 years old for these assignments.
